Safety while indoor and outdoor rock climbing is extremely important to keep yourself and others safe and prevent injury or worse. Having knowledge about rope systems, how to use gear correctly, and applying proper risk management skills is imperative to have a safe and successful climbing experience. Indoor Climbing

  • Warm up and stretch before climbing
  • Get top rope / lead certified at the gym before climbing on ropes
  • Climb within your ability level
  • Check your ropes/knots, harnesses, and belay devices before beginning your climb

  • Check the weather and dress accordingly
  • Bring plenty of food and water depending on length and challenge of activity
