Cochran’s Ski Area is a small ski hill located in Richmond, Vermont which aims to provide affordable and accessible skiing and snowboarding to people in the local area. Being a small area, there are no rentals provided at Cochran’s and you must bring your own gear in order to ski or snowboard. The most expensive day pass that Cochrans offers is only $19 for a weekend day pass. Other deals that they have include $10 midweek tickets and a $5 night skiing pass offered on Fridays. Children under 5 and adults over 72 ski for free, so if you have cousins, younger siblings, or grandparents visiting, this can be a great way to spend time outdoors together! This is the most affordable day skiing that students can take advantage of. Regardless of whether or not you may have a Sugarbush pass, if you have gear and are looking for a quick ski or snowboarding workout, Cochran’s is a short 20 minute drive from campus and is a fun hill to enjoy for a day or evening. There are 10 acres of terrain and roughly 5 trails for all to enjoy. Interested in Nordic skiing as well? Check out their website to find more information about their annual Nordic Ski Cross Race!
